Let’s continue with #5 and #6

A POST WHO’S SUCCESS SURPRISED YOU

To be honest, I have quite a few of those. The fact that ANY of my posts would generate enough attention to make it worthy of being refferred to as “successful” is a surprise to me.

But without a doubt, the one post who’s success really surprised me the most period is my Tuna Fish Sandwich.

To me, this was just a tuna fish sandwich…

A BORING tuna fish sandwich. A very good tuna fish sandwich, but a tuna fish sandwich nonetheless…

I wasn’t even quite sure that I wanted to post it at all, ESPECIALLY after having uploaded my pictures.

I was NOT happy with them at all. I even hesitated to submit one to the foodgawkers of this world, because I was absolutely certain that they would reject it, and, well, nobody likes to be rejected and I guess I am not exception.

Still, I decided to give it a shot anyway. After all, I had nothing to lose. So, I took a deep breath, closed my eyes and hit the submit button(s).

Much to my surprise, not only did my picture get accepted, but the post generated a lot of interest and even got featured on Glamour.

I guess I sort of learned a lesson or three with this post:

  1. Stop doubting yourself;
  2. Don’t take this too seriously;
  3. Just go for it! (hey, you never know…)

A POST YOU FEEL DIDN’T GET THE ATTENTION IT DESERVED

Now, I don’t know if I can say that it didn’t get the attention that it I felt it deserved… After all, this is a blog about healthy eating and the post in question is about the most decadent, rich, calorie dense cake that you could ever dream of.

But still, I had worked very hard on it, spent all day week-end making the cake and the pretty flowers, had bought props and fabric specifically for this project, and when I posted it, it pretty much got lost in cyberspace… it basically generated nothing more than faint cricket sounds, echoing from a distance.

Back in the time when I did that post (that one dates from my old Food Obsessed on Tumblr days), I thought that my pictures were very yummy and were worthy of getting at least “some” attention.

Of course, looking back on it now, I can see that my pictures really weren’t the best and I say that this poor cake really deserves a reshoot.

The only problem is, if I did that, then I’d have to eat some of that cake…

Hmmmm… rich, creamy, decadent, melt in your mouth, not even humanly possible, so good it should be illegal dark chocolate cake…

I couldn’t possibly let it go to waste, now, could I?

Anybody vote for a reshoot? 😉
