Versatile Blogger Award
I need to confess something here…
I’m just soooo honored, I just don’t know where to start or what to say really. It’s like words suddenly elude me.
I’ve been nominated for the Versatile Blogger Award many a time over the last few weeks and I think it’s about time that I first, thank from the bottom of my heart those who nominated me, and second, play along with the game and comply with the rules of the VBA.
They go as follows:
- Thank the person who gave you this award.
Well, thank you soooooo very much to those of you who thought me worthy of this great award! I truly appreciate your nominating me. You are awesome, each and every one of you, and you can’t even begin to imagine just how sincerely touched I am by all of this.
Yes, that means you, Nora, and you too, Lauren… and Monica, and Jodie, Anne and Amanda!
Your impact on me is legendary and you`re all true gems, really!
Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, and thank you again!
People, please take a moment to click on each of these truly amazing bloggers above which will take you right to their site.
- Next, select 15 blogs/bloggers that you’ve recently discovered or follow regularly.
Here is my list of nominees: some are recent discoveries and some I like to read on a regular basis.
Food.Life.Passion
Berry Happy Bodies
Write.Click.Cook.Listen
Beetroot and Halloumi
Anna’s Adventures in Health
Heather’s Creative Concoctions
Foodie Be Fit
- Nominate those 15 bloggers for the Versatile Blogger Award.
Hum… isn’t that what I just did? Alright guys, consider yourselves nominated! 😉
- Finally, tell the person who nominated you 7 things about yourself.
Alright… here goes!
- I actually have a “Little known facts of my life” page sitting in my Drafts section. I’d started working on it last year and wanted to get to 50 before to make it public. I stopped at 27…
- My daughter was born exactly 2 weeks before my birthday; My son was born 18 months minus one day after my daughter
- My dad was an actual cowboy before he met my mom. A REAL COWBOY! I’ve always been so proud of that!
- I absolutely hate having my hands dirty, as in CANNOT STAND IT! I wash my hands like a million times when I cook (anybody else out there like me?).
- I’m a certified pastry chef. I spent a year and a half in culinary school. Fact #4 would be one of the primary reasons I never became a pastry chef after all…
- Can you believe I’ve never done a cartwheel? I`m stupid crazy afraid to even try!
- Anyone out there afraid of heights? I have a hard time climbing up a ladder, yet I would LOVE to try parachute jumping.

Awwww you’re so welcome! The award has your name written all over it, it was a no brainer to include you in my top 15! You’re the best, thanks for all your amazingness – both as a person and through your fabulous recipes and delicious blog 🙂 xoxo
Thank Nora… you just made my day… again!!! 😀
Hey Sonia!
I’ve been a bit busy and couldn’t afford the time to peruse your lovely blog and try your recipes lately so I stayed away from the temptation, but I see your blog underwent a beautiful make-over and some great new recipes have been posted! I don’t have a blog and don’t know much about the nominations and awards in the blogosphere, but I definitely think that you deserve all the accolades and more! You provide amazing pictures, delicious and healthy recipes and refreshing writing posts!
I even started cutting much on my refined sugar use (thanks to the alternatives you provide) and been “healthyfying” (I know it’s not a word lol) my cake/dessert baking 🙂
BTW, congrats on completing your 40 days challenge.
A small unrelated question here: I just blended my dates + water (I was a bit overzealous and made 2 full jars). Could you tell me how long do you keep your concoction in the fridge before it goes bad?
I shared your blog with a few friends, and I think I might be able to convert some to a healthier lifestyle 🙂
Thanks again for sharing your delicious concoctions and providing motivation for the regular folks such as myself 😀
Wow, thank you so much for all that Élise, I am totally flushed and at a loss for words here. As always, your kind comment made my day! You are a true gem, my dear. Real happy to hear that I am inspiring you to “healthify” your baking and hey, don’t worry about using that “non-word”, I use it so often myself, I seriously think it should be officialized!
To answer your question about date paste, it keeps in the refrigerator for up to 3 months, but I dare you to keep it that long. I use it everywhere now, so a jar will not last me much longer than a few weeks!
Thanks for sharing my blog, I truly appreciate your spreading the word! 🙂
CONGRATULATIONS Sonia!!! Now, go and do a cartwheel by way of celebration 😉 xxx
Awwww, thank you Claire. I wish I had the courage to do that… 😉
