It’s no secret to anyone by now I guess that I am a big fan of whey protein powder… I mean, I put that @#*! in everything… almost literally! However, not all protein powders are created equal and when you start analyzing them, you realize that a lot of them contain all sorts of “unwanted added […]
It has been a week since I’ve gotten back on track after that [not so] little Holiday slip-up and I figured some of you would like to know how I am holding up… Well, I am happy to report that things are going awfully well and exactly as planned. I’m not saying it has been super easy, […]
I made these over the Holidays. Oh… My… Yum… Try to be still my heart. Just try. They are so good, I don’t even know how to put it. Well, maybe if you read the comment that I left on Erin’s site, you would understand. Who’s Erin, you ask? She’s the devil who posted the […]
Sometimes, you just want your food to taste good. You just don’t care about the nutrition factor. You just want something to make you feel better, to comfort you or to just flat out give you pleasure… Well, what if I told you you can totally get your cake AND eat it too? I have […]
Don’t throw tomatoes at me please. I know that a lot of you are eagerly awaiting the recipe for my Chocolate Beet Bundt Cake, but I’m so excited about this one I just HAD to share it now! Plus, seeing as how Thanksgiving is just around the corner, I figured this was more appropriate… So […]
Chocolate Cranberry and Almond Protein Cookies My second experimentation of the day was cookies. I found this recipe on the Net last week and decided to give it a try (I tweaked it a little, though…). There were no directions, save for “mix everything together”. Well, after I did that, I was left with some […]
Spinach, Cottage Cheese and Walnuts Savory Muffin Still experimenting with my protein bar replacement; this week-end, I decided to do things a little differently. I started with a savory muffin, for a change. Spinach, cottage cheese and walnuts. I am fairly happy with the results, their taste is really great. However, they still need a […]
The second batch I made was Zucchini / Beets. I am really happy with how they turned out. I should’ve taken a picture of the one I broke open (couldn’t resist any longer, I HAD to eat one!), they look just like Christmas inside. All the red and the green, plus the black from the […]
Today has been a good day, I guess, for I spent the entire day cooking. The funny thing is I don’t have much to show for it. I don’t think you guys would like to see pictures of piles of beets waiting to be peeled or inside round getting ground. I did, however, make my […]
Pancakes for breakfast! I usually have cereal for breakfast. Day in, day out. Oh, not the store bought kind of stuff, of course, I make my own. I’ve been eating cereal every morning for the past, well, at least 10 months, and I just can’t seem to get bored with it. In fact, I look […]
Second batch was Apple, Cottage Cheese and Walnuts. I used half Buckwheat and Half Whole Wheat flour, which gives the bar a really subtle taste of Buckwheat. That was is a winner, nice and dense, just the way I like them.
I made two batches of mini protein breads today. The first one is Cranberry, Orange and Almonds. They turned out pretty great… Nice and fluffy that one!
I used to eat protein bars every day. While they are a good source of non meat protein and are very convenient for they are highly portable, they aren’t the best as far as nutrients are concerned. Not much freshness going on there!!! So I started looking for a cleaner option and found a recipe […]
